About Whatley Construction

In 1982, Alex Whatley, an Auburn University Building Science graduate, founded Whatley Construction in Opelika, Alabama. He has built his business based on the principles of hard work, quality services and integrity. Edward Whatley joined Whatley Construction’s management team in 2009, contributing his experience from working with a Birmingham based contractor and his degree in civil engineering. He is a registered LEED AP, which accredits him as an environmentally friendly building professional—a desired commodity in an increasingly “green” world. Whatley Construction combines diverse experience and pride in its work to provide clients professional service and quality construction projects.

Whatley Construction’s chief goal is to provide unmatched satisfaction for our clients. A primary goal is to create a valuable working team relationship between the architect, contractor and client throughout the project. Whatley strives to make the commercial contracting and building process accessible to every customer.

Whatley Construction welcomes a wide variety of building projects, including banks, schools, churches, office buildings and warehouses. Whatley Construction has experience working with wood framing, concrete masonry units (block construction), conventional structural steel, structural metal studs, as well as, pre-engineered metal buildings. With its diverse portfolio of projects, Whatley Construction has proven that it can meet any of our clients’ needs.
